What Lies Beneath
2017. Inspired by the uplift of the sea bed after the Kaikoura earthquake, it is a sculptural light made from recycled pvc pipe, broken china plates and tiles, paua and shells and steel supports. 850 mm height.
Sofa So Good
2017. Community sofa project, designed by Colleen Dallimore and project managed by me. Upcycled couch, covered in plaster and chicken wire, tiles, glass and metal chain. The sofa was built to celebrate the opening of Days Track. We had 10 mosaic artists contribute as well as neighbourhood residents contributing labour, coffee and motivation. It was a physical challenge working on a gravel slope on a hill but very rewarding.
Ada; a portrait of my grandchild created at the Ravenna Art School
2016. Made with Smalti and marble on cement board. 340 mm x 280 mm.
Wall Mosaic
2013. This was an organic work that took on a life of its own! It starts with the sun and the land and flows into the sea and ends in a night scene. It is made of marine ply, tiles, grass tiles, crash glass and paint, shells and a mirror being held by hands made of Plaster of Paris. 1.5 x 4.5 metres.

I have been creating mosaics for about seven years and am keen to continue to learn and experiment. I attended the Mosaic Art School in Ravenna with Luciana Notturni for a two week workshop.
I like creating a wide variety of mosaic art; from abstract to realism. I like using lights for an added perspective to my pieces and creating multi layer, multi media pieces. Although I enjoy making “beautiful” mosaics, I am also interested in exploring how mosaics can be used to impart a message and upcycling. I can put a smile on your face if you have precious china that has been broken by transforming it into art!
I welcome commissions and have provided work for a local Law Office and project managed and helped mosaic a sofa on Days Track in Nelson which looks out over Tasman Bay and Mount Arthur Range.
I am inspired working from my studio overlooking bush and the Tasman Bay.
