In September 2010 and February 2011 Christchurch experienced two major earthquakes that reshaped the city, with many lives lost and others changed forever. Sometimes broken isn’t meant to be fixed – instead we can only piece together the fragments to create something new and hopefully just as beautiful.
The lovely Flora and Otto – born (literally) from the rubble of the quakes. Within their thousands of pieces of meticulously cut china lie many treasured memories – tea sets from grandparents, dinner sets from overseas adventures, commemorative cups and saucers. These stories that were too precious to throw away were instead given a new life by the talented Crack’d for Christchurch team.
Kindly on loan to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, Flora and Otto are located between the Daffodil Woodland and Heritage Rose Garden.
