2017 commission, 600 mm x 400 mm, predominantly stained glass on plywood. This was made for a 21st birthday gift.
2018 commission, approximately 220 mm diameter x 250mm high, broken heirloom china from the 2011 Christchurch earthquake on a terracotta planter pot.
2018, both approx 400 mm height x 160 mm diameter, stained glass, glass tiles and broken jewellery on terracotta chess pieces. These were fun to create and the quirkiness of these two characters has stopped me being able to part with them. They reside in a safe place in the sun to sparkle away.

I have been involved in the Mosaic Art world for 17 – going on 18 years now.
My favourite medium to work with is stained glass. I love the challenge of cutting shapes and using the textures and colours in the glass to make my art works. Playing with glass is fun!!
Of recent times I have suddenly discovered a real interest in the traditional Romanesque style mosaics from yester-year. That will be my next challenge – especially sourcing the different coloured stone to work with. My inspiration for this style comes from visiting a local museum that had an ancient mosaic inlaid in a floor. The simplicity and yet complexity of the piece fascinated me. And it was all made with just a few shades of stone. Will be an interesting journey I am picking.
