It was created on a dress maker’s torso with a 100 year old map of Ahuriri on the bodice, a clock face on the back along with hands frozen in time at 10.47am when the 1931 Earthquake struck. China, porcelain, silver serviette ring, tie pin and brooch tell this story.

Janice Corbishley
I was drawn into the art of mosaic with a weekend workshop in Taupo 2002 learning basic techniques with a hammer and tiles approach and soon after got hooked on the possibilities that fine china and porcelain offered, this still being my preferred medium. Having been a dress maker in the ’80’s” helped to translate my designs to dress making in china my passion being human form along with shoes and a lot more. It is a thrill for me to transform treasured broken pieces into Heirlooms with heart warming stories to share each piece comes with a poem thrown in commissions a joy for me. Today I look forward to sharing my skill though weekend Masterclass Workshops.
