I have been mosaicing for about 16 years – fell in love with mosaicking after taking a class at Pateka in Christchurch. At that time we had small group of women doing “arty” projects, met at participants homes and somehow the whole group moved to mosaicing – we were called (by grandson) The Mad Mosaicers! As a group we ran our own little exhibition and sales, all in our lovely garden. Then came the earthquakes!! With loss of house and a move to the other side of town, the group continued and we still meet, although some changes. I have exhibited my mosaics Nationally, and locally in Christchurch. Being part of a group “Crack’d for Christchurch” working with china broken in the earthquakes, along with Mad Mosaicers, as been an important part of my post earthquake healing. My preference is working with natural element, stones, schist, and slate although I also “cruise op shops” for “bling”! I do not do commissions, I prefer to work with my heart and if someone likes what I have done I am happy to sell.
