New Zealand Mosaic Art

Elwyn Scott

A mosaic journey of ten years has seen many changes of style and medium used. Nature is a constant inspiration and I am always excited and fascinated by strata and the use different types of medium. I use my kiln to make and glaze my own tiles. I often look at everyday “things” with a view to how they could be used in a mosaic. For example I have used buttons in a recent mosaic. This approach has had me testing the boundaries at times. Having a home studio allows me short sessions between work and grandchildren. I don’t do commissions or sell.
