New Zealand Mosaic Art

Elwyn Scott

A mosaic journey of 13 years has seen many changes of style and medium used. I often look at everyday “things” with a view to how they could be used in a mosaic and this has had me testing the boundaries at times. I have used a variety of mediums and have really enjoyed that process. Also having a kiln and a love of using clay and firing pieces has enabled me to make my own tiles and various bits and pieces to use in my mosaics. My pieces are generally big so they take considerable time to create. I have a home studio so I’m able to work in short or long bursts depending on my time and schedule. My role on the national NZMA Inc committee for many years has also been an enjoyable part of my life. I don’t sell or do commissions.
