1970’s floor tile, wall tile, stained glass on 20cm diameter wood board. Literally buried at the back of the workshop I found the box of green patterned floor tiles a friend gave me years ago. I knew they would be perfect for this project. I’ve gone for a maximum contrast between the red and green tile which are complimented by the orange and yellow stain glass. Yes the eyes took a long time to get right…the glass grinder earned its keep! NFS
This is 3D, with the leaves elevated at different heights. $250
I meet with another mosaic artist once a fortnight and we have a different theme every month or so to work on. What brings me joy was one theme chosen, and it's flowers that delight me. NFS
Found pieces of old pudding bowls salvaged from the beach, put back together, and filled with shards of Crown Lynn. On MDF. NFS
Smalti, stained glass, glass gems, seed and bugle beads on 20cm diameter Marmox with a 3D middle round. The first mosaic I’ve made in months as I’ve been in a creative dead zone. I finally forced myself to sit down and start nipping and this is the result. $185
Our July online competition has no theme, the only stipulation was that all mosaics had to be sized at 20cm. All exhibitors are members of NZ Mosaic Art
